I'm finally beginning to retake some of the photos of the left wing construction that I lost. Here are shots of the hole drilled through the aileron bracket so the flap pin is removable. This technique works fine, but many builders are splitting the flap hinge pin in the middle of the flap instead of drilling this hole for removal.

Then, in the right photo, I'm showing the 7/8" PVC that I inserted for threading wires in. It is relatively light and should protect the wires. I'll have wires to the landing, recognition, position, and strobe lights in the PVC. I used a Unibit in a long extension to enlarge the Van's holes. This PVC fits very tight, but you could glue collars on each end, if desired. |
